The Left-Right Spectrum

Anatole Kaletsky:

“There are three different ways of defining the Left-Right spectrum, roughly corresponding to three different traditions of socialism: Marxist socialism, which demanded state control of the economy and opposed private ownership of the means of production; Fabian socialism, which focused on redistribution of income and wealth from the rich to the poor; and Beveridge or welfare-state socialism, which emphasised state provision of social services.”
